The membership of the Heathlake Community Association, Inc. consists of 312 single-family homes within Heathwood, Woods of Lakeside, and Lakeview Forest subdivisions. Residents who lease their houses may participate in all Association activities except voting. The Association is a non-profit corporation originally organized by the subdivision developers under guidelines set forth in the Articles of Incorporation, By-Laws, and Deed Restrictions. Homeowners have an irrevocable responsibility as referenced in one's property deed to support the Association through the annual maintenance assessment.
The primary functions of the Association are the ownership and maintenance of the Community Clubhouse, tennis courts, swimming pool, children's playground, and the upkeep of the common areas, esplanades, and cul-de-sacs. Additional expenses are incurred for security, utilities, insurance, trash removal, fee collection, legal fees, and capital improvements.
A five member volunteer Board of Directors oversees these activities. Each Director is elected for a two-year term. Three positions become available on even-numbered years, and two positions are open on odd-numbered years. Elections are held each December at the Annual meeting. Additional meetings are held throughout the year as deemed necessary.
